In the field of the junior challengers, we are very privileged to have many rising stars being groomed – Nicholas Chong, Jordon Lim, Malcolm Ting, Voon Yii Kiet, Lim Beng Keat, Mirabel Ting, Priscilla Huong, Alethea Cordelia, Angel Tiong and many others, too many to mention.  All of them will be taking part in this tournament.

At the trophies handing over ceremony, the KGM Acting Captain, Michael Tang thanked the Sarawak Golf Association represented by Cr. Robert Inging Ak Will in particular for giving Miri Golf Club this opportunity to host this event.  He added that Miri has over these few years groomed many juniors and this is the right time for them to be exposed and experience playing in an Open Tournament.  This will enable them to gain deeper insight and experience playing with other junior golfers better than themselves.

He stressed further, “We are certain that this will boost them to excel and go much further up to another level in their golfing skills.  Having this event in Miri save them the trouble to travel and spent.”

He also thanked the MGC Junior Committee and in particular, Dato’ Sebastian Ting, the advisor of the Junior Golf Program for “Trees don’t grow overnight”, it is the effort of this group of dedicated committee who made MGC Junior Golf Program possible.

Last but not least, he thanked all the sponsors of this event for their generosity, in making this event a great success.
